Emission: how the reward is calculated
The emission schedule of the Eddycoin mainnet is called Kompromis-120b. Checking the live node… This page explains exactly how every checkpoint reward is computed. All numbers on this page come from the signed emission spec: your browser downloads it, checks its signature and recomputes the whole schedule before anything is shown.
Verifying the emission spec…
Schedule years vs. calendar time. The emission is defined per checkpoint. Its “years” are schedule years of 1,051,920 checkpoints, i.e. one checkpoint every 30 seconds (the protocol target). Real checkpoint times vary with the hashrate – current average per lane: see the Explorer. If checkpoints come more slowly, the calendar time stretches in proportion (for example, at 45 s per checkpoint a schedule year takes about 1.5 calendar years); the reward per checkpoint and the 900,000,000 EDDY cap do not change.
Key numbers
| Maximum supply (hard cap) | …, reached exactly at … |
| Starting reward | … |
| Checkpoint target | one every … seconds (protocol target) = … checkpoints per schedule year |
| Real pace now | see the Explorer (average block time per lane, from the explorer) |
| Reward steps (epochs) | the reward changes every … checkpoints; … epochs in total, … per schedule year, for … schedule years |
| Premine / genesis allocation | none – every unit is mined |
| Split | 50 % to the CPU miner (E-Chain), 50 % to the GPU miner (D-Chain) |
| Smallest unit | 0.00000001 EDDY (8 decimals) |
Milestones
| After | Mined in total | Share of 900 M |

The formula
Everything is integer math on the smallest unit (0.00000001 EDDY). “floor” means rounding down to a whole number. Every node, miner and verifier uses exactly the same steps, so all of them get exactly the same result.
- Find the epoch. Checkpoint
h(counting from 1) belongs to epochk = floor((h − 1) / L), whereL= … checkpoints. All checkpoints in one epoch get the same reward. - Slow decay. A base value starts at
F_0= … and shrinks a little each epoch:F_(k+1) = floor(F_k × Q / 2^…)withQ= …. - Gentle finish. With
N= … epochs andm = 2N − 2k − 1, the reward iss_k = floor((F_k + C) × m² / (4N²))withC= …. The factorm² / (4N²)falls from almost 1 to almost 0 over the 120 years, so the schedule fades out smoothly instead of stopping with a steep drop. - Make it even.
s_k = s_k − (s_k mod 2). An even number splits exactly 50/50 between the CPU and the GPU miner, so no unit is ever lost or created by the split. - The final remainder. Because of all the rounding down, the sum of all regular rewards ends slightly below the cap. The very last checkpoint (…) receives that exact remainder (…) on top of its regular reward, so the total is exactly the cap – never more. After it, checkpoints carry fees only.
- Fees come on top of the reward and are split between the two miners as well. Difficulty is independent of the emission: when more miners join, blocks get harder to find and the schedule stays the same.
Worked example
Selected epochs
| Epoch k | Checkpoints | F_k | m | floor((F_k + C)·m²/(4N²)) | Reward s_k (even) | Per miner |
|---|
Epochs 0–2 are the first steps, epoch 108 starts year 2, the middle epoch is halfway through the 120 years, and the last epoch shows how small the reward has become at the very end. In the last epoch the regular reward has faded to zero; only the final checkpoint gets the remainder.

Verify it yourself
- Your browser downloads the spec from the Eddycoin node, checks the signing key against the fingerprint pinned in this page, checks the SHA-256 and the Ed25519 signature, recomputes every epoch from the constants above and compares the result with the signed tables. Only then are the numbers shown (badge “Verified”). If the node cannot be reached, the cached copy on this site is checked the same way (badge “Verified cached copy”).

- Offline check (Python 3.8+, standard library only): verify_emission.py –
python3 verify_emission.py - On the mainnet, every node has this formula built in and computes each reward itself; a checkpoint with a wrong reward or one that would exceed the cap is rejected. More: signed spec details.
