Mining on the Eddycoin mainnet eddycoin-mainnet-1
Every EDDY is mined: there is no premine and no allocation. New coins are created only when a checkpoint is finalized, and each checkpoint needs work from a CPU miner and a GPU miner. The miners are on Downloads.

Two lanes: E (CPU) and D (GPU)
- E-Chain – mined with the processor by Eddycoin CPU Miner.
- D-Chain – mined with the graphics card by Eddycoin GPU Miner (OpenCL; the normal graphics driver is enough, integrated graphics work too).
- Both lanes use double SHA-256 proof-of-work. A block is valid when its hash has at least the required number of leading zero bits.
- Y-Chain checkpoint: each checkpoint needs exactly one E block and one D block for the same checkpoint candidate. When both exist, the checkpoint is finalized, its transactions are confirmed and its reward is created.
- The reward of each checkpoint (Kompromis-120b) is split 50 % to the E block finder and 50 % to the D block finder.
- If one lane finds its block first, its miners wait (“waiting for a D-Chain block” / “waiting for an E-Chain block”) until the other lane has found its block. That is normal.
Difficulty
- Protocol target: about one checkpoint every 30 seconds. Up to checkpoint Y 879 each lane aimed at 30 s per block, so checkpoints (which need both lanes) took about 45–55 s; from Y 880 (node 2.0.2) each lane aims at about 20 s, giving about 30 s per checkpoint. Real block times vary with the hashrate and with how fast the difficulty catches up – current average: see the Explorer.
- Difficulty is set separately for E and D and retargets every 10 checkpoints from the measured block times – up to Y 879 by at most 2 bits per step; from Y 880 in fine steps, so the bits you receive may alternate between two neighbouring values (e.g. 36 and 37). Miners, the pool and the wallet need no update.
- Right after launch the difficulty was low, so blocks came quickly; with more miners it rises and every block gets harder. The total issuance does not depend on difficulty – only on the number of checkpoints.
- Your share of the rewards depends on your part of the total hashrate of your lane.
Official pool
| Pool URL | https://pool.129-159-188-73.sslip.io (default in the miners) |
| Fee | 2 % of each pool block reward |
| Scheme | PPLNS, separately per lane (E and D) |
| Payout | to your own address, from 1 EDDY, after 6 checkpoint confirmations; payouts are sent about every 10 minutes |
| Stats | pool.129-159-188-73.sslip.io/pool |
Live pool status
Loading live pool data…
With the pool you get regular small payouts instead of waiting to find a whole block yourself. Shares are checked by the pool; blocks found by the pool are normal mainnet blocks you can see in the Explorer.
“Half” mode (default)
- CPU miner: half of the logical cores at 100 %.
- GPU miner: 50 % intensity.
- The computer stays usable while mining. You can change cores and intensity in the miner window at any time.
- Start mining automatically when opened is on by default (once an address is entered) and can be switched off in the miner window.
Solo mining
In the miner's Server list add the node https://129-159-188-73.sslip.io or your own node. Solo blocks pay the full lane reward directly to your address.
Start mining in 4 steps
- Download the mainnet wallet, create your wallet and write down the 24 recovery words (Wallet guide).
- Copy your address (
eddy1…). - Download the Windows miners (CPU zip + GPU zip into the same folder) or the Mac miner. Open each miner, paste your address and press START. On Windows, Start mining (CPU + GPU).cmd starts both.
- Watch your balance in the Explorer (search for your address) or in the wallet. Pool payouts arrive from 1 EDDY after 6 confirmations.
Command line (Windows): "Eddycoin CPU Miner.exe" --wallet eddy1YOURADDRESS · "Eddycoin GPU Miner.exe" --wallet eddy1YOURADDRESS --intensity 50 · --max-blocks N stops after N accepted blocks or pool shares.
Mining costs electricity and hardware and makes the computer warmer – keep an eye on temperatures. No profit, price or value is promised. Eddycoin is experimental and not audited.
History: before the mainnet launch on 27 October 2026 there was a separate test network. It has ended; its coins and keys do not carry over to the mainnet.
